Re: “WTF: What's With the Headless Woman Mural on Pine Street?

D'oh! Didn't realize that was the case. I'll make sure to send my thoughts to Liz directly. Is her email really dan@sevendaysvt.com? And feel free to delete my posts if you'd like.

P.S. Funky mural and cool story. Thanks for the regularly interesting WTF column.

Re: “WTF: What's With the Headless Woman Mural on Pine Street?

"For Beautify Earth's inaugural mural in Vermont, they worked with B Corporation, a Vermont nonprofit that accredits companies for practicing sustainability and social responsibility."

I think you are referring to B Lab, a non-profit based in Philadelphia that certifies B Corporations. (http://www.bcorporation.net/) It's confusing because there are many VT companies certified as B Corps through this third party (King Arthur Flour, Seventh Generation, B+J, Cabot, etc.), and there is legislation passed in the state of VT to allow companies to incorporate as Benefit Corporations (not the same thing). The point I'm making is that the non-profit to which I believe you are referring is in fact based in PA and called B Lab, not B Corporation. They are the organization which certifies B Corps as well as advocates for the Benefit Corporation status within various Secretary of State's offices. Clear as the stormy skies?
