Re: “Long Shot: A Mother of Two Keeps the Gun Debate Alive

The complaint about Gun Sense VT's funding coming from out of state is valid only if the gun owners can explain how those "special interests" stand to gain from success in the State House...and I would love to see the logic they'd use to support that claim.

Re: “AWOL Pols: Vermont GOPers Take a Walk on Indiana Resolution

'I would have voted against the resolution because, you know, No. 1: I don't like socialist Democrats and the Progressives shoving that crap down my throat,"
.
Someone needs to remind Mr. Terenzini that using "socialist" as an umbrella term for, "anyone I dislike" went out of style decades ago. Unfortunately, believing that advocating equal rights even for people we dislike is "crap" never seems, among some people, to go out of style.
.
Ihave no reason to doubt Rep. Strong's claim that she was absent in order to honor the holy day, but I'd be interested in knowing her Good Friday attendance or absence in previous years.

Re: “AWOL Pols: Vermont GOPers Take a Walk on Indiana Resolution

"In a written statement he provided reporters, Rep. Warren Van Wyck (R-Ferrisburgh) explained that he was 'not interested in passing judgments' on the actions of other states, 'unless they directly affect the substantive well-being of the state of Vermont and its residents.'"
.
I'm glad Vermont didn't feel that way in 1861, and I'm glad that most of the legislature doesn't feel that way today.

Re: “Vermont GOP Official to Travel to Israel With 'Extremist' Group

She's a player on the national political scene, yet the SPLC is "whatever group you said"?

This, folks, is what's wrong with the Republican Party.
