Re: “Piecasso Family Pizzeria

best pizza I've had in VT
I live in Burlington and I wish PieCasso did too. It's the best pizza I've had in VT. It's got a bar/restaurant that's great to hang out at, and you can just roll in and get a quick slice. I crave this place after skiing. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that I'm still mad that they aren't in Burlington yet. Food: 4 Ambiance: 4 Service: 4

Re: “The Skinny Pancake (Burlington)

response to recent comment
"Eal", we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced trying to order via phone yesterday. Our phone line was down all day, and our business was hurt by having no to-go orders as a result. It has been fixed today. On any other day, we always answer the phone quickly. Concerning the comment about our staff: almost without exception our staff are very close friends with each other, and that comes through when they are working. We respectfully disagree that our service speed and quality has not improved. We regularly measure wait times at peak flow and they have drastically decreased since we overhauled the kitchen and process, and our peak output is much greater than it was. In terms of service quality, we have received fewer negative reviews and lots of positive ones since we hired the new General Manager. We're always working to improve service and the job will never be done, but we feel the facts don't line up with your review.

Re: “The Skinny Pancake (Burlington)

clarifications on fondue bread and menu variations
We just wanted to quickly follow up on BTVneedsethnicfoods comment below. Thanks for your honest feedback, it helps us do better. First, we completely agree with your name and support any and all ethnic food to make our dining experience more varied in our little town, especially if they can figure out how to do it with local ingredients. So, nice name! Secondly, a note on fondue: while it seems counter intuitive, authentic fondue is actually supposed to be served with at least day old bread, not fresh bread. Day old bread softens in the cheese but still holds its shape while fresh bread turns into mush. Third: one of the challenges with local food is that you can't always get the same thing every time. Sometimes, for example, Duclos & Thompson runs out of bacon and we instead get VT Smoke & Cure (also delicious). If the variation is big enough to change the dish and/or no longer be local, we should (and usually do) let the customer know. Thanks again for your comments. We will review this post among managers and make sure to monitor the bread and menu variations carefully going forward.

Re: “The Skinny Pancake (Burlington)

clarification
To the visitor who posted the recent review: we're sorry you were not satisfied with your experience, however we would like to clear up a couple of misstatements in your message: 1) the garnish along with your crepe is intended to be just that: a garnish. It isn't even mentioned in the description of the crepes. There are salads to order that are much larger and the crepe cake comes with a much bigger salad. Several of our crepes are enormous and some are more normal meal-sized but all come with garnish. 2) We recently changed our policy to notify customers if the wait will be anything more than 15 minutes for their food. Most of our customers have thanked us for doing this. Friday was one of our busiest weekdays ever, with every table full from opening through mid-afternoon, yet the longest wait time was less than 25 minutes.
