Re: “Thoughts About Mardi Gras

Having gone to school in New Orleans, I am more than familiar with what a GREAT Mardi Gras parade not only looks like, but more importantly, feels and sounds like. Even though we have celebrated, and attended the VT parade every year, because of the kids, it is not something that I look forward to. But! I know what this parade needs to give it a real heart beat (Oooh yeah, pun intended!), one which will have people yearning to come back, year after year. Are?! You?! Reaaady?! Boom da boom, da boom boom! It's the Music! When I think Mardi Gras parade...the first thing that happens is... I hear, and feel, the high school marching bands jammin' it out in front of the procession and the floats. It gets everyone into the spirit, young and old. Plus, here, in the bitter cold, moving to music would keep your skin from falling off. Bonus! & the high school band members would finally be able to score with the ladies as their kewl meter would skyrocket! Win win!
