Re: “Vermont Man Under 'Voluntary' Ebola Quarantine After West Africa Trip

Today on facebook, another post by Dr. I.

Done, Finished, Goodbye
I am serious. Apparently, nobody (not even my most ardent supporters) cares about the onslaught of negative publicity that I have been getting in the news and online, calling me a fake, a fraud, a lunatic. Because if they did, they would contact the people and places I have mentioned, incl the ‪#‎MiddleburyPoliceDept‬, ‪#‎RutlandRegionalMedicalCenter‬, ‪#‎DrMichaelConway‬ at ‪#‎RutlandSurgicalAssociates‬ and ‪#‎DavidReady‬ and obtain the evidence that would prove that I am not a fake, a fraud or a lunatic, but that I have been telling everyone the truth about who I am and what I can do, and set the record straight. And if enough of you are persistent enough, you will get all the necessary evidence because it's out there. But nobody has even bothered. So, I'm done, finished. Goodbye!

Re: “Opinion: Infectious Dis-Ease: Ebola Scare Tactics

The first press report about Italia was in the NY Times last week. The case mentioned at the end of this article was later confirmed to be Vermont's own Dr. Italia. The Times reported that he threatened to bring Ebola to the US, according to higher ups in the federal government.

NY Times writes: "And the virus has presented at least one unusual challenge for law enforcement agencies, senior American officials said on Sunday. They described how agencies had urgently investigated a man who wrote a bizarre post on social media that he was going to try and contract Ebola in Africa and then return to the United States."

The Governor of Vermont denied knowledge of this report. Most other press reports have ignored this reported threat.

The rural town in Vermont is not Rutland. This has been widely reported.

Re: “Opinion: Infectious Dis-Ease: Ebola Scare Tactics

Kaci registered a fever at the airport. (After she came from having direct contact with dying Ebola patients for a month where many hospitals are tents without floors....and having a roommate in Africa who contracted Ebola but doestn't know how.) The authorities had to take her in to check her out because of her risk of having been exposed and her basic symptoms and released her to home isolation after a few days observation and testing. Perfectly reasonable.

Re: “Media Note: Reporting the Personal Side of Politics

Following the lame reporting on the VT Ebola quarantine case, where reporters failed to ask probing questions and instead bought and published the Governor's smokescreen, I can see how there is an unspoken agreement not to challenge the Governor on real issues, let alone silly things like who his adult girlfriend is.

Re: “Vermont Man Under 'Voluntary' Ebola Quarantine After West Africa Trip

Mark Davis, do you think that the authorities in Vermont are being less than candid about the stated intent of this person? In the NY Times article it said that he went to Africa to work with patients AND to contract Ebola and bring it to the US. But the Vermont officials, characterize him as having "uncertainty around his intentions" (Mayor) and "good intentions" (Governor & Health Commissioner) . So this person's intentions run the gamut from evil to good.

We saw the Governor evade the questions about the NY Times article yesterday. The state has not denied the connection between that article and the man they are monitoring under so-called "voluntary" quarantine (with Law Enforcement presence).

Are reporters being discouraged from probing further on the inconsistencies in the story Vermont is putting out?
