My husband and I went to The Belted Cow Bistro for the first time on the occasion of our recent 17th wedding anniversary. For both of us, it was a great experience in all ways. We live in Essex Jct. and both agree that the area needs more good places to eat and for us, this new restaurant just became a GREAT place to eat. Thanks to reviews we read, we checked out the following starters: the prosciutto wrapped field green salad, cast iron seared scallops, grilled flatbread with duck confit, and the Red Hen bread tartine with smoked pork. They were all excellent and I would go back in a heartbeat for the salad and flatbread. I made two of the four starters we ordered my dinner but my husband had the duck confit for his entree, which on that night had black figs in it. It was so delicious. In addition, we tried the Pomegranate Margarita and Mojito and ended it all with the dark chocolate creme brulee. We left stuffed and very happy with all aspects of our experience. Having been to the former Lincoln Inn it was wonderful to see what the new owners have done with the space, which is so tastefully and thoughtfully done. In all ways it was a delicious, clean, fresh, warm, and wonderful experience that made our special occasion even more special. So, with all of that said, please help spread the word so this one-of-a-kind location in Essex Junction sticks around for a long, long time!
