Re: “The Whole Tooth? Vermont's Head Warden Targeted for Covering His Tracks in Bear Case

It's long past time that the governor, disband the current Fish & Wildlife board which consists only of hunters and trappers, and replace them with Vermonters who actually care about our environment and wildlife. There's more to be made, economically speaking, through tourism by promoting the beauty of the Green Mountains and the many outdoor activities available, then by enabling the hunting subculture.
The actions or inactions of the Board, by promoting for example, "coyote thrill-kill contests' has had a direct impact on the increase of Lyme disease across our state. The science is there, and it has been presented to Louis Porter and the Board a number of times, yet they choose to ignore it, much like the 'climate-change deniers' who think it's just about the weather.

Re: “One Controversial Coyote Hunt Is Canceled, and Another Crops Up

Since coyotes and foxes, prey on the RODENTS that carry the 'deer ticks', that spread Lyme disease and which are decimating Vermont's moose population, these 'Thrill-Kill' thereby only promote the spread of Lyme disease among all Vermonters and tourists visiting our state. There's no reason that the F&W Board needs to cater and enable a small subculture, that revels in these 'blood-fests', against the Will of the Majority of Vermonters. I'm very glad to see at least one of these sadistic 'contests' ended.
