Re: “Mule Bar

Chewy Cheeks
The service was terrific and friendly. The fish and chips were less than could be desired. The string fries were terrific, but the choice of haddock cheeks for the fish was disastrous. The fish was so chewy that at first I thought it wasn't fully cooked because it had the texture of raw fish. But upon examination, it was clear the fish was cooked and that was just the texture of haddock cheeks. When I order fish and chips, I expect the fish to be hot and flaky, not so chewy that I had to tear a bite from the piece of fish. Not a pleasant experience. Food: 2 Ambiance: 3 Service: 4

Re: “Before Burlington's Proposed Mall Makeover, They Called It 'Urban Renewal'

Terrific article! It was thorough and didn't have an agenda. That's real reporting. It's convinced me that I won't have a problem with 14-story buildings. The difference of 55 feet isn't significant. I think it will really make downtown more of a center than it already is. My only concern is parking. I can't see where they're going to put all those cars with the additional residential and business space. That doesn't seem viable.

Re: “New Performance Venue Planned in Thriving Downtown Winooski

On one level I love this idea, but on another I think about parking and traffic, especially with the hotel being built diagonally across the circle. I just can't see how all this traffic with be accommodated unless we knock down the City Hall/Police station and turn it into a parking garage. Perhaps we should move the police and city hall near the library where the opiate issues are exploding.

Re: “Kyle Dodson to Lead Greater Burlington YMCA

This is great! I can't imagine the Y finding a better fit. I'm sure they did a national search, but Kyle's resume and experience prove that he has a national profile. I've worked with him on and off on various projects for two decades. His contributions have been nothing less than brilliant and visionary. He not only works well with people, but he knows how to lead. The Y is extremely lucky.

Re: “UVM Is Paying a Philly Firm $1.58 Million to 'Rebrand'

I am amused. I never knew that I could be "vibrantly alive" vs. just alive. I can feel the difference. I'm ready to enroll.
