Lee Ranaldo, Swale

When: Wed., Nov. 1, 8:30 p.m. 2017
Price: $15
When the iconic rock band Sonic Youth announced their disbandment in 2011, fans let out a collective sigh. It may have been the end of an era, but at least some of the group’s members, including guitarist Lee Ranaldo, continue to churn out cutting-edge tunes — for example, his latest record, Electric Trim. Filmmaker Fred Riedel chronicled the making of that album in his new documentary, Hello Hello Hello: Lee Ranaldo, Electric Trim. The film features guest appearances from Wilco’s Nels Cline, singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten, author Jonathan Lethem and others. Ranaldo performs on Wednesday, November 2, at ArtsRiot in Burlington, with local indie rockers Swale. A screening of Hello Hello Hello precedes the show.
