Good but a little pricey
I live in the Richmond area so I've been to Toscano several times with family members or with my boyfriend. I really enjoyed the pork entree--it has a cranberry sauce on it and has been delicious both times I tried it, as were the Prince Edward Island Mussels. However, on one occasion I tried the mussel special--and unfortunately the menu did not mention the spiciness of the Thai hot peppers used in the sauce. I should have asked for clarification when I saw the name of an ingredient I didn't recognize. I love spicy food, but this was hot even for me, and ended up making me ill immediately after leaving! I learned that it's always good to ask about words on the menu you don't recognize. I think I will eventually go back, once the memory has faded a bit more, because otherwise the food has been quite good, but for now I'll go to Sonoma Station if I'm feeling like going out for a pricey dinner.
