Jane: No Dave Hartnett does not own a gas station. No conflict of interest here

phuzzie: you assumed that those who do not ride in the winter have never tried it. Interpretation: I like it and if you try it you will like it to. Because everyone should be like me.

Re: “Backpedaling: Burlington Residents Challenge Plans for More Bike Lanes

There absolutely is not enough parking in this city. One cause is because landlords turn, what used to be single family homes, into multi-rental units and then get signs posted on those streets that state that residents only can park on the street. How do they get away with it; it is not the responsibility of Burlington residents to provide parking in town. IT IS THE LANDLORD'S. All tax paying residents pay for the maintenance of those streets and ALL residents of Burlington should be allowed to use them.

I have lived my many decades in this city and raised three sons here. They all live outside of Burlington - they hate the congested traffic

To guy who thinks we all should bike in the winter because he does - pleassssse get off your high horse; others can decide for themselves. They don't need you ramming your narrowmindedness down their throats. Why, why, why are so-called progressives so obsessed with telling others how to live.

Re: “Winooski Gay Bar Once Known as Mister Sister Has Closed

Roy: I agree with you 100%.

That being said, it was an unfortunate, totally manufactured and petty issue put forth by a group of angry, militant transsexuals hopped up on hormones and ginned up outrage who are continually looking for a reason to be offended and play the victim.

It is truly sick to be so self-absorbed and vengeful. Circumstances do not make the person, they expose the person. As someone I once knew used to say about mean-spirited people - thank god I am not him/her.

Re: “McAllister Guilty of Misdemeanor, Beats Felony Charge

Martin: Are you kidding me?! The guy is guilty of prostitution!! You think this state should be led by someone sooooo immoral?

Those legislators on your list possess too little to morals to be in the legislature themselves.

Re: “North Avenue Bike Lane Survey Leads to Controversy

There's a new book just out - The City Always Wins. Maybe the mayor should use it for his next book group, and not decide anything about the pilot until then.

Re: “North Avenue Bike Lane Survey Leads to Controversy

Back when Wards 4 & 7 voted NO on the pilot the Mayor stated that he was not going to force something on NNEnders that they don't want. What a joke - of course, he was.

Then and now the Mayor was going to get the pilot converted to permanency - whatever it takes. There is no way he and Chapin can be trusted on this - THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY GOING TO HAVE THEIR WAY.

You'd have to dumber than a rock to be believe that Chapin wasn't hired to continue his work from Local Motion throughout the city. It appears too, that Local Motion is on the city payroll.

Even if you want the pilot to become permanent, personally I couldn't care less, you should be concerned about honest democracy and the near single party on the council.
