Re: “A Divided South Burlington Tries to Unite With Two Separate Events

I'm disapointed this article quoted a person saying that pointing out white privilege and fragility is racist without explaining at all what those terms mean.

Re: “Burlington Cop Resigns After Perjury Allegation in Drug Case

Situations like this are why we need a citizen oversight committee for our Police Dept. Please contact your city council reps in support of forming one!

I'd like information about the other officers role as well.

Re: “Funding Loss Undercuts a Popular Family Program

The Family Room Parent and Community Advisory is requesting the VNA reinstate our missing staff and restore program integrity at least through the end of this fiscal year in June. The amount needed to do so is around $100,000. We need this as a strong foundation for a collaborative long term planning process with VNA leadership, staff, families, and all the other community stakeholders that rely on the Family Rooms unique contribution in supporting families and social service organizations. Needs are increasing. Supports that work as effectively as The Family Rooms does should not be contracting. The Family Room and community deserves more process and transperancy. We hold our 4th community meeting Thursday 12th, 6-8 pm, at AALV. Our email is for sharing info and ideas. Please join us.

Re: “Montpeculiar: A Star Witness in House Phish and Wildlife

I understand the relational constraints and complexities he describes relating to staying "non-political" as a band, and feel empathy. Entertainers shooting off at the mouth and not doing the work of being informed is irritating and to be avoided. Being ill informed is the problem there, not not the activism! I am working hard locally, pushing against my own marginalization, trauma, and day to day situation, to support people in making changes to systems that aren't working well for them. I feel let down reading this. Reaching deep for courage and devoting time and energy is necessary. I witness folks with much less privilege and far more difficult daily circumstances lean in, learn about an issue in depth, and make a difference in our communities through collective action. So, Jon, really glad you got in there! Now, lean harder ;)

Re: “Optimism For CCTA Deal; Drivers May Vote Tomorrow

First time I have seen the fact that drivers are not getting paid while on strike in print. Maybe I have missed it in other pieces. Much of the public seems to have assumed that they are receiving wages!
