Menus Posted: Blue Paddle Bistro and Tourterelle

6a00d83451b91969e20133ecbadbda970b-200wiWe'll travel far for delicious seafood. Fortunately, during Restaurant Week, we need only to head to the islands — the  Champlain Islands, that is — or down to New Haven to do so.

The $35 dinner menu at South Hero's Blue Paddle Bistro is dense with delicious seafood, from a sushi-grade tuna tartare with pickled ginger, wasabi aioli and crispy wontons, to sautéed tiger shrimp with sweet-potato-and-chipotle adobe yellow grits, cilantro and green-onion sauce, to a seafood risotto with U-10 sea scallops and chunks of lobster meat in a roasted red pepper, caramelized-onion-and-asiago risotto with grilled asparagus. Even non-fish-lovers will be spoiled for choice: everyone gets to choose from six appetizers and four entrées.

At Tourterelle, the dishes on the $35 dinner menu marry French technique to fresh fish and local meats and produce. Here, you can open with salmon two ways — smoked and tequila-cured — over corn pancakes and a mâche salad. For the main course, how about Cabillaud au Fenouil, coriander-and-fennel-seed-crusted cod with grilled asparagus and Provençal tomato in a caper-dill sauce? A choice of three desserts — including a strawberry-rhubarb crisp — rounds out the menu.
