Anyone who says disco is dead has never seen Midnight Magic work their, um, magic. The New York City-based collective presents a pitch-perfect throwback to the good old days of Manhattan’s club scene. Powerhouse vocalist Tiffany Roth leads the nine-piece ensemble through ecstatic, funk-drenched dance jams. So bust out your polyester shirts and platform shoes. Close your eyes as the bass starts thumping. You’ll swear you’ve been transported back to the strobe- and laser-filled dance floors of the late ’70s. Midnight Magic perform on Friday, September 21, at Nectar’s in Burlington. Fellow New Yorkers Underground System add support.
