Mt. Joy, Fever Dolls

When: Thu., June 14, 8 p.m. 2018
Price: $12/15
Geographically speaking, twin peaks Mount Joy and Mount Misery lie at the edge of Valley Forge, Pa. Folk-rockers Mt. Joy — who take their name from the more jubilantly named mountain — thread a similar duality throughout their debut, self-titled album. The group’s blithe, streamlined Americana songs touch on some heart-wrenching concepts: isolation, depression, addiction and regret. Ultimately, the countrified rockers have a sense of intrepid wonderment as they boldly explore the cavernous wasteland known as young adulthood. Check out Mt. Joy on Thursday, June 14, at ArtsRiot in Burlington. Locals Fever Dolls open.
