St. Albans Alice Jean (St. Onge) Shover, age 89, died peacefully Thursday evening with her husband and daughter by her, January 28, 2016, at the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born in Montgomery Center, November 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Arthur and Marjorie St. Onge.
Alice attended school in Montgomery and graduated from Enosburg High School in 1944. She was a secretary for the family business and a couple of Doctors offices. Alice enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rollin Shover of St. Albans; her daughter, Sally Dion of Swanton; her son, Daniel Shover and his wife, Grace, of NM; 3 grandchildren, Justin Coons and his fiancée, Mandi, of Colchester, Leah Shover of NM, Andrew Shover of CA; 2 sisters, Beverly Sylvester of Franklin, Marylin Abell and her husband, Mickey, of Enosburg; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine St. Onge of Montgomery, Joyce Tessier of Richford, Janice Brunelle of NC, Yvonne Shover of Williston, Colleen Shover of CT; Carlton Shover of FL and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie; her step-mother, Margaret; her son, Bruce Shover; her sisters, Arlene Lariviere, Pauline Baker, Albina Gibney, Lillian Hicks; her brother, Arthur St. Onge and her son-in-law, Larry Dion.
The family wants to thank the staff at the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center.
