Florence Carmen Bechard a lifelong area resident passed away early Wednesday, June 29th, 2016, at The Residence at Shelburne Bay.
Born in Highgate on May 29th, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Berthe (Viens) Cadieux. Florence was 90 years old.
On October 23rd, 1945, in Holy Angels Church, she married Jean Paul Johnny Bechard, who preceded her in death on December 21st, 2010. They were married for 65 years and in that time they raised their family and operated a farm in Georgia.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne, Jeannette, Deanne, Bernadette and Carmen; sons, Maurice and Michel, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Florence is also survived by her siblings, Roger, Marcel, Richard, Angela, Solange, Simonne, Lucille and many nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean Paul, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Clement, Leon, Andrew, Rejeanne, Alice and Berthe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 1st, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 2nd at 11:30 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 245 Lake Street, St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
