Obituary: Frederick W. Evans, Jr. 

Frederick W. Evans Jr, 87, of Essex Jct VT went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 16th 2015 following a brief illness.

He was born on July 28th 1927 in Queens NY the son of Frederick W. Evans and Ethel Staveley. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Jeanne Evans of Essex VT and his five children James Frederick Evans, Linda Marceau, Paul Evans, William Evans, and Lisa Evans. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren in addition to his sister Barbara Torrance and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Ferguson.

Fred was a graduate of Valley Steam Central High, served in the United States Navy, and was employed in the heating and ventilating industry for many years. He owned and operated Champlain Mechanical Contracting for several years. He attended Jericho Congregational Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping, boating, sugaring in the Spring, and summers on the Hudson River. He was known for his quick and bright sense of humor, creativity, and stick figure renderings.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be followed by interment at the Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation Inc. 1317 King St. Alexandria, VA 22314, or Fisher House Foundation 111 Rockville Pike Suite 420 Rockville, MD 20850.
