Obituary: Isabel May Petersen

Isabel May Petersen, age 86 years, a native of Noyan, Quebec and for the past 15 years a resident of S. Burlington, VT died Tuesday morning May 28, 2013, in the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans.

Born in Noyan, Quebec Canada on May 15, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Clifford Hardy and Ruth May (Naylor) Hardy She attended schools in Canada and on November 23, 1955, was married to Hebert Peter Petersen who predeceased her on July 6, 2006. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on July 7, 1994. She will be remembered as a devoted housewife who spent many years taking care of her mother and father.

Isabel leaves her cousins, Lorna and Erwin of Alburgh, VT, Sheila, Dianne, Donald and Richard, Rene, Alan, and Rose; Elaine, David, and Harold Nielson all of Quebec; longtime friends, Carroll and Joanne Lawes, Irene Hendee, Norma Hurteau and Ann Campbell and great neighbors, Laura Bousquet and Susan Haggerty.

Besides her husband of 50 years, Isabel was predeceased by a cousin, Joyce.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. from St. Thomas Anglican Church, Noyan, Quebec. The Reverend Thora L. Chadwick will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Gifts in Isabel's memory may be made to St. Thomas Anglican Church, 1273 Chemin de la Petit France, Noyan-Clarenceville, Quebec Canada J0J1B0
