Obituary: James Daniel Bianca III

James Daniel Bianca III, age 54, a resident of this area since 1998, died Monday afternoon October 27, 2014, at his home on the Robert Newton Road with loving family and friends at his side.

Born in Burlington, Vermont on February 17, 1960, he was the son of James D. Bianca Jr. and the late Elizabeth Masson Bianca. He graduated from Saint Peters Parochial School in Saratoga, New York and was inducted into the basketball hall of fame and later attended Norwich University and Skidmore College. Until illness forced him to retire Jim had been employed with FCI Federal. He was an avid sports fan, Go Mets!, March Madness basketball and a lifelong avid Green Bay Packers fan. He also passed onto to his son Alex his love of history.

In addition to his father, James D. Bianca Jr., Jim leaves his son, Alex Bianca; fiancée Terry Hammel; two sisters, Cynthia Whiteside and her husband Richard and Roberta O'Neil and husband Colonel James O'Neil; two brothers, Daniel Bianca and his wife Beth and Andrew Bianca and wife Wendy as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family Bill and Anne Ellis.

He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth (Masson) Bianca on August 9th of this year.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 246 Lake Street, Saint Albans City. Father Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Monday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Gifts in Jim's memory may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency - Hospice Program, 3 Home Health Circle, Saint Albans 05478.
