James Leonard Savage, age 82 years, a lifelong Swanton resident died early Sunday evening, December 14, 2014, at Redstone Villa in St. Albans City.
Born in Swanton on, August 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Antoinette (Letourneau) Savage. He graduated from Swanton High School and faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Era.
Jim worked several years in production for Dexter Products and will be especially remembered as an avid fisherman.
Jim leaves two daughters, Lynn M. Billado and her husband Daniel of Swanton and Dawn M. Gilbar and husband Sherman of Highgate; two sons, Randall J. Savage and his wife Melissa and Rickie L. Savage and wife Shannon all of Champlain, NY; many grand and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Pearl Benoit and husband Donald J. and a brother, Keith Savage and his wife Delores.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
