Obituary: Leo John Belrose

Leo John Belrose, age 53 years, died suddenly early Saturday morning February 8, 2014, in the Northwestern Medical Center. A native of Swanton Leo has been a resident of Alburgh for the past 14 years.

Born in St. Albans on December 7, 1960, he was the son of the late Leo Joseph and Gwendolyn Lydia (Lumbra) Belrose. He attended Swanton schools graduating from Missisquoi Valley Union High School. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army.

At the time of his death, Leo was associated with Cobble Hill Trailer Sales in Milton. In earlier years he had been employed by Casella Waste Management, Century Arms and also spent many hours driving truck. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and loved his dog Sheba.

He is survived by his partner and companion of 21 years, Robin Amaral of Alburgh; his children, Charles Bullard and his wife Lacey of W. Virginia, Maria Amaral of Barre and Ilona Amaral of Waitsfield; grandchildren; Taylor, Jaxson and Ryker; his mother-in-law, Norma LaVigne of Highgate; two sisters, Phyllis Armstrong and Rita Cheney both of Highgate; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy McGowan and David Province both of Alburgh; good friends, Joe Kwiatkowski and Tony Woods as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by a daughter, Jolene Hodgdon in 2004 and sisters, Pauline, Diane, Juanita and Beverly.

Funeral Services will be held Monday February 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Father Leonidas B. Laroche will officiate.
