Patrick Wilfred “Happy” Prue, age 61 years, a resident of the Dunton Road for 30 years died Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2015, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston with loving family at his side.

Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on, August 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Norman and Phyllis (Niles) Prue. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy-Saint Albans and for many years worked as a press operator for Mylan Technology.

He was devoted to hunting and fishing and enjoyed his hunting trips to Canada. He also enjoyed his motorcycle and was a member of the Free Spirit Club. Patrick was a great car enthusiast and a member of the Green Mountain Cruisers.

Patrick leaves his daughter, Kari Firkey and her husband Jason of Enosburgh Falls; his son, David Longley of Malletts Bay; five grandchildren, Skyler Gokey, Julianna Firkey, Hayden Firkey, Colt Choiniere and Brody Gagner and one sister, Mary Larock and husband Ron of Fairfield as well as several nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Besides his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his wife, Linda, a daughter, Tabitha and four sisters, Peggy Sayers, Gladys Rudnickas, Sandra Donna and Susan Figueroa.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Roger L. Charbonneau will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place in the Spring at Saint Anthony’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sheldon Springs.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Gifts in Patrick’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 55 Day Lane, Williston 05495.
