Warren T. Brundige, 80, a resident of Division St. in Bennington died Friday October 2, 2015 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a brief illness.
He was born in Cambridge, New York August 16, 1935. He was the son of the late Louis and Mary I. (Neilson) Brundige. He received his education in Hoosick Falls and was a graduate of Walter Wood High School.
He married the former Betty Cone on September 26, 1959 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Warren was employed at General Electric in Waterford, New York and from 1969 1997 was a Postal Carrier at the Bennington Post Office from which he retired.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 13, Bennington Elks Lodge # 567, the Moose Family Center, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1861 and was a very active member of the VFW Post 1332. In earlier years Warren enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and was a Dodgers fan.
Survivors include his wife Betty Brundige of Bennington. His children, Kelly Carroll and her husband Walt of Bennington and Kurt M. Brundige of Marietta, Georgia; Three grandchildren, Emily, Olivia and Cody Hamann all of Bennington; His former son in law Cliff Hamann of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother Edward Brundige and a sister Doris Armitage.
The committal Service with full military honors will be held at the George B. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
A celebration of Warrens life will continue at the VFW Post 1332 on North St. in Bennington on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
