Re: “Walters: Scott Says He'll Sign Bill Legalizing Marijuana in Vermont

Governor Scott is sending Vermont back into the dark ages is more like it. I never met a soul who benefitted from smoking weed; except perhaps for an occasional medical need. Cloudy headed, spaced out people to a person in my experience..

The use of weed strikes me as an adolescent infatuation which should years ago have dropped out of the life of any mature person.

The idea that this represents an introduction of the state into the 21st century shows you the consciousness level of the pothead population in Vermont.

I actually thought Governor Scott was a strong, level headed man; apparently not, as he had the chance to lead the state to a healthier future and he punted away his opportunity under pressure from an ill- informed demographic in the state.

The only viable businesses in the state will be breweries and pot shops. What a legacy for the next generations to come.

Re: “Walters: Ex-Freeps Editor Finds a Friend on Fox News

Why are the people of Vermont allowing themselves to consider an X category on drivers licenses for people who comprise a mere .001% of the population? Is no one willing to consider the rights of 99.1% of the people who are not suffering from this affliction(40% suicide rate), and deserve to have their quality of life upheld instead? Wouldn't that make much more sense? Now the normal folks must put up with this unfortunate debate.

This condition known as gender dysphoria is going to grow now that states are recognizing it and catering to it! Any consideration of special status for these suffering folks should be rejected in favor of loving care and counseling so that these people can accept rather than contend with their DNA. They are going to lose the struggle as one cannot fight against who and what one is in the biological sense. You are the sex you are for a reason, to a very great purpose. You MUST accept it people!!!

The point is, however, this effort by the LGBTQ movement to legitimize these abberant lifestyle choices,is the next step in the further legitimization of ill-advised alternative lifestyles which have been tried countless times before in the history of man; and each time the result was legislation put in place to make such deviations from the cultural norms of the time, illegal; to protect society, and mostly the suffering people themselves from a disastrous fate.

The ones who oppose this transgenderism effort are the ones who are truly loving these people. They want to save them from their own disastrous destiny if left unattended.

Re: “Vermont Senate Sends Marijuana Legalization Bill to Governor

If the Governor signs the bill he is failing in his duty to lead the people of Vermont to a more productive future. Weed is BAD because it negatively impacts the neurophysiology of all who engage in its use. Enlightened legislation would never legitimize destructive behaviors, especially with the motive of profiting by it by taxing the revenues produced. That reasoning is a fool's errand for sure! The result is bad money obtained through wrong motivation and action. These revenues will lead the state to no end that is useful and productive.

Vermont would be far better off by attempting to lure legitimate business investment into the state because Vermont has always had a problem with the lack of good jobs; I left 40 years ago because of the lack of opportunity in the state. I doubt this will ever happen however!

If the Governor had any sense he would follow his original instinct and veto the bill for a second time. Apparently, the people of Vermont do not know what is good for them. So LEAD Governor Scott! Do Not follow the masses who are very much wrong on this issue.

Re: “Anti-Social Media: Burlington Free Press Editor Tweets Himself Out of a Job

This controversy is simply the LGBTQ community taking their effort at imposing a heterophobic(irrational fear of moral normalcy)view on society to the next level.

The above mentioned community care nothing about freedom, truth or moral decency; or science for that matter. In true Machiavellian fashion they care about 1 thing; shoving their skewed view of human sexuality down our throats.

They are very dangerous fascists and MUST be opposed at every step of the way.

Stand up for Traditional values; we are finished without them!!

Re: “Media Note: Top Burlington Free Press Editor Fired After Controversial Tweets

Mr. Finley simply gave expression to what every sensible person would think as regards this stupid alternative gender issue. He gets FIRED for upholding the natural state of things!!!! This is beyond outrageous and shows just how crazy the people of Vermont have become in the Bernie(commie)era. I was born and raised in Burlington and realized many years ago that I had to leave as the Bernie era was just beginning. Living now in Virginia I can say unequivocally that Vermont and Vermonters are a laughing stock in my adoptive state. Whatever goofy new trend comes down the pike Vermonters are all in. Ugh!!! Good riddance to the Green Mountain State.
