Everyone Looks Tired and Flat during Winter in VT
Everyone looks tired and flat during winter in Vermont, not just 3 Squares Employees. Walk thru any alleyway in Vergennes, take a look at those piles of dirty snow, try to feel enthused. Go home to your loved one, with their pale, winter body leaking out of cheerless woolens and muster up that satisfaction. It is a tough time of year for all of us. Appearing pretty and well-rested is a chore when you have been up all night worrying about the economy or considering your redundancy or insert whatever existential plight.
That said, I haven't noticed any decline in service or food at 3 Squares Cafe. I eat there at least 2x per week. The specials vary wildly, and Chef/Owner, Matt Birong is always willing to handle special requests. Portions are substantial without being life-threatening, and the staff is polite and plenty competent. I feel very lucky to have such a reliable, affordable cafe in my area.
