Playin' Possum

Matt Thorsen and I live in what's commonly called "The Compound." If you've been on lower Church Street, you'll know the place: One apartment building is covered in giant photographs, the other with CDs (and photos), and there's a fabulous garden courtyard between the two.

Anywho... a couple weeks ago, Matt came upon a dead mother opossum with 12 — count 'em — 12 baby possums who were barely alive. Matt sprung into action and put all the possums in a box and took them to wildlife rescuer, Ellen Jareckie (of House-Mouse Designs fame).

A couple days later, Matt checked in for an update on the babies. Not only had they all survived, but they had doubled their weight and were doing quite well, thanks to Ellen's intensive care and bottle feeding.

Here's a photo (from Ellen) of the little guys. We'll keep you posted as we get updates on how they're doing.
