What better way to celebrate National Poetry Month than by taking in a reading from a renowned master of verse? The New England Review and the Middlebury College Creative Writing Program present NER poetry editor Rick Barot in an intimate appearance. The award-winning wordsmith treats lit lovers to selected stanzas from his latest collection, 2015’s Chord, filled with what Publishers Weekly describes as “meditative, personal poems.” “At his best,” according to the literary trade magazine, “Barot seamlessly weaves history, image and etymology in ways that offer the reader new eyes to see language and the world it describes.” What more could a poet hope to achieve?
