Poor Waitstaff expierence
I had great expectations of the Green Room. I had heard many good things about it. My initial response was the atmosphere was very upscale. The sound level for being as open as it was, was very good. The food, delicious. My dining partner and I, not being that hungry, ordered two appetizers, soup and salad, $8.00, and some kind of bread with various toppings, $8.00. We shared our desire with our waiter to split both appetizers. We were told he would pass on the word the to the Chef. Our salad was delivered first, we commented on the size. More than enough for us. The toppings that adored the salad made the salad unique and delicious, shaved beets and sweet nuts. Soon our waiter came and offered the suggestion that we forego the second appetizer if what we had ordered was enough food for us. As odd as the suggestion was, we agreed. Soon another server came with our soup. Again, more than enough. We told her of our desire to split the soup. She returned the soup to the cook with the request. We were then presented with a rejection from the chef by our original server. As he walked away, my dining partner stood and proceeded to split the soup. In hindsite, I should have tipped her. At the end of the meal we were presented with the bill $41.00. Hmmm (1) $8.00 appetizer, 2 glasses of wine = $41.00. At the time, I did not scrutize the bill. I guess, I was hoping that any upscale restaurant that served alcohol would hire, a: trustworthy staff, and b: people who knew how to do math!! Other than the bill issue, there is one thought I would like to suggest on any waitstaff, anywhere, splitting soup after it has been delivered to a table becomes a serving issue, not the Chef's issue. Please step up to the plate.
