Re: “On a Big Stage, Sanders Counters Trump on Foreign Policy

Gee, look at how well the collaborative effort approach has worked over the years & long before Trump was elected. I am ready to skip all the PC blathering. Bernie is a professional politician who has never had a real job wants the populace beholden to government. I have never voted for him for any office & never will.

Re: “Two GOP Legislators Renew Push to Ban Teachers' Strikes

With 37 other states already having a law in place, let's hope the too often prevailing Vermont narrative that "We're not like other places" takes a back seat to seriously studying the successes or lack thereof of those 37 states, and to craft a great piece of legislation that ends NEA's manipulative machinations by the end of the next legislative session.

Re: “Burlington Teachers Vote to Strike If Contract Battle Is Not Resolved

Surprising isn't it, that Governor Scott could not get out of the gate with legislators to even consider having teachers' contracts negotiated by the state. Charters can be changed. I think January 2018 will be a prime time to revisit Scott's idea.

Re: “Vermont DACA Recipient Speaks Out After Trump Rescinds Program

Right on Walter Moses. I wonder if you and I are paying for the interpreter. I disagree with Ms. Coria: Migration, immigration to the U.S. is NOT a human right. And she's not even talking about doing it legally. You want our country's freedom then get legal. And please, learn to speak English.

Re: “Keep BT Local Faces Uphill Battle in Bid to Buy Burlington Telecom

Hmmm, let's do the math. As a taxpayer who is still disgusted over being lied to and screwed financially by the prior city's administration over BT and the farcical pretense of possibly charging city administrators with malfeasance, I could care less about keeping BT local. Sell to the highest bidder. I actually do not think the city has any business being in the cable or municipal airport business, You need only look at the past and current balance sheets to see why.

Re: “New Community Center Focuses on Programs for Youths of Color

What a ludicrous example of fostering community. An exclusive place that does not welcome or even allow white kids? I'd say this is overt racism against white people.

Re: “Advocate: Transient's Latest Arrest Exposes Holes in Social Safety Net

litebrite42, Reynolds should not be free to roam the streets. He is a menace to society. I don't give a damn about trying to save him, to make him well. As Mark Redmond points out, Reynolds has run the gamut unsuccessfully of a multitude of services to try and help him. It hasn't worked. Remove him from causing further damage to society. The greater good is to get him off the streets and to use resources for cases less severe. If you want to help him, to be part of the fairy tale just society you envision, invite him to live with you.
