Smooch Winners 2010

Congratulations to this year's best kissers

Thanks to the 1842 people who voted online and the 80+ kissers who submitted their photos and videos. We hope the fun — and the viewing — inspired some much-needed warmth during this cold season.

Congratulations to Roy Belcher of Worcester for beating out the lip-locked competition in the Seven Days Smooch! Kissing Contest presented by Von Bargen’s.

With 835 votes, Belcher’s acrobatic pic won the “Most Original/Creative Kissers” category and was also the top votegetter. For his tongue-twisting talents, Belcher (pictured at right with Francis Sharpstene overlooking Jordan Pond in Acadia, Me.), will receive a luxury getaway for 2 at Lake Placid Lodge and Silver Secret Heart Earrings from Von Bargen’s. Can’t wait to see those pictures!

With 632 votes, Victoria Maley won second place and the top spot in the “Awww-some Kiss (Sweetest) category with her photo of Kate Prinkley and Tori Maley “sharing a kiss next to our first ‘Bonanza Tree’ in December 2009.”

And in third place, “The Sexiest Smooch” goes to Nadeth Blake and Ryan Fitzgerald with 554 votes. Fitgerald describes the photo, “The huntress prepares to devour her prey one kiss at a time, with wine-stained lips and an appetite for ... a hearty feast.” Yum!

“Kisses of Burlington,” by Jonathan Paquette of Burlington, edged out the other entries in our kissing video category.

On Seven Days' Love and Marriage Issue cover this week, we asked readers to draft a letter — Mad Lib-style — to their Valentine. This kind of creative writing requires a pair: One asking for parts of speech, the other dreaming up the answers. If you're playing solitaire, though, here's a whiz-bang generator.
