Food: Healthy, Vermont-made, prepackaged meals

Published February 1, 2014 at 4:00 a.m. | Updated April 4, 2022 at 7:52 p.m.

Julianna Doherty is a mother of four, so she's familiar with the challenge of packing lunches on the fly. That's why she created Lunch Bundles, a line of all-natural, prepackaged meals that retail for about $5 a pop. Each one contains healthy nibbles such as Vermont Farmstead cheeses, Castleton Crackers, dried fruits and vegetables, and chocolate-covered pretzels. Think Oscar Mayer's Lunchables gone wholesome. The idea, says Doherty, co-owner of Graze, a Vergennes-based farm-to-fridge grocery-delivery service, is that "if you were packing the lunch, you'd use the same ingredients. You could toss it to your kid and feel good about it."

Lunch Bundles: The Vermont-made snack packs can be found at several area stores, including Healthy Living Market & Café and City Market. They'll be available at all Hannaford stores in April. Find more information at lunchbundles.com.
