Re: “Walters: Rural Cell Provider CoverageCo Is About to Go Dark

I would not mind a small charge on my phone bill here in Chittenden County to insure that all Vermonters, especially schools, have cell phone service. We are lucky to be in an area with economic growth and advanced infrastructure--we can easily and painlessly share some of that wealth with our fellow Vermonters who live in rural areas. Who knows, we may be traveling there someday and need the service.

Re: “Windjammer Closed Until Sunday Due to Norovirus Outbreak

My family greatly enjoys the Windjammer and Upper Deck. The people who work there are wonderful folks and the owners have built a very successful local business. Here is hoping they find the cause quickly, all sick customers recover very soon and the Windjammer can get back to being one of the best restaurants in the area.

Re: “Franklin County Gunmaker Lobbies Against Magazine Capacity Limits

"Attorney Brady Toensing, a lobbyist for Century International Arms, said the legislation WOULD KILL the company, which employs more than 100 people at its Georgia manufacturing plant."

A poor choice of words there, Brady.

Re: “Walters: Queer Youth Meet the Governor

I am so sad to see the 7 Days message board become the usual dumping ground for right-wing trolls to share their venom and hatred with the world. It was a valuable exchange of ideas at one time where Vermonters could disagree but with respect. Many reliable journalistic endeavors are dropping their message boards as they serve no purpose but to divide and alienate us from each other. Perhaps 7 Days should join them.

Re: “Media Note: Top Free Press Editor Sparks Outrage on Twitter

I recently tried to put concerns with Gannet behind me and subscribe to the Free Press at their special holiday rate of $10 for a year. I never could get the subscription link to work after many days of trying. I finally called the phone line to subscribe but got dropped from the call every time, at lest five tries. I decided that the Free Press was so poorly run, they couldn't even do job 1--to get people to buy their paper. I am so glad I didn't subscribe, it saves me from having to cancel this morning.
