The evolution of Steve Gunn continues. Currently based in Brooklyn, the Philadelphia native is a fingerstyle guitar virtuoso. Until recently, his exceptional skills have been the focal point of his music. But on his latest albums, the road-trip-inspiring Eyes on the Lines and 2019’s contemplative The Unseen in Between, the artist puts greater emphasis on his lyrical content. Expansive and meandering, Gunn’s music gazes back at the peak of ’70s folk-rock while still feeling fresh and unique. He performs on Saturday, July 27, at ArtsRiot in Burlington. Bill MacKay and Wildflower open.
