Mistress Maeve: Your guide to love and lust...

Published December 21, 2011 at 12:45 p.m.

Dear Mistress,

Male in my twenties here. I'm heading back home for Christmas and, as always, I will be getting together with a group of high school friends - including my ex-girlfriend. She and I don't talk on a regular basis, but it seems we can't be in the same room without having sex. We have always had this animalistic thing for each other.

The problem is, I now have a girlfriend. I'm worried I'm going to cheat. What should I do?

Struggling Santa

Dear Struggling Santa,

What should you do? Here's an idea: Don't cheat. Though I'm sure it's been thrilling to have an old flame light your yule log from time to time, let's face facts - it didn't work out with your ex. Why would you jeopardize your new relationship for the same old ride in the sleigh with her?

If you're truly worried that you might cheat, your current relationship might not be up to snuff. If that's the case, address your issues with integrity - don't make them worse by meeting your ex under the mistletoe. Regardless of the "animalistic thing" with your ex, keep your junk in your Santa suit until you sort out what you want with your current Mrs. Claus. Cheating is for cowards, not Santas.

Ho, Ho, Ho,
