Stuck in Vermont: Monica Kaigle Remembers a Lifetime Spent in Burlington

Episode 603

Published January 23, 2020 at 6:00 a.m. | Updated February 5, 2020 at 9:18 p.m.

Monica Kaigle, also known as "Spin" to many of her friends, knows Burlington. And at almost 89 years old, she is still difficult to keep up with. We talked to Monica about her parents, who both worked in mills in Winooski; her family of eight; and her memories of the Queen City back in the days when porch-sitting was a sport. We visited Monica’s home on Booth Street, where she has lived for about 60 years, and stopped by the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum in Winooski to hear about Monica’s memories of the mills.
