Re: “Notorious Transient Accused of Assaulting Burlington Business Owner

three words - Lock him up.
let this drain on society dry up in prison
for a nice long time -
i bet that would make him pretty unhappy - and do his liver a favor
it boggles my mind that he can be arrested 117 times and have 31 convictions
and he then assaults someone and gets released ! again
mental illness, alcoholism - who cares
he should not be on the street
there should be some punishment or consequences for his actions
releasing him sends a message that there are zero consequences to actions

Re: “Leahys in Love: A Senator and His Spouse Weather Cancer

I thought this was perhaps the weakest FG column Walters has done.
Why did 7 days think a full page of their political column devoted to the Ls marriage and MLs 14 year old cancer diagnosis was newsworthy.
Really, who cares? Or who cares that much? A full page? BORING! What is the relevance? Maybe this belonged in the 7 days love issue in February. This is suppose to be where you go for the weekly CURRENT VT political news. I kept thinking why is he writing this long long piece on these two and their relationship and her cancer scare that is over a decade in the past???
I suppose late August is a very slow news period. Question for 7 Days: Where was his editor on this? The editor should have called BS on this and told Walters to hack this down or find something relevant to write about.

Re: “Letters to the Editor (8/9/17)

Mr Duquette's letter would be laughable if it werent so absurd. I am not shedding any tears for Mosher. What Duquette leaves out is that Mosher had his bulls loose on Rt 4 multiple times before this crash. He was warned, he chose to do nothing. He was even warned that evening he had someone come to his house and wake him up and tell him about his bull on Rt. 4 what did he do? He want back to bed! Explain that behavior. Duquette is actually blaming the victim? Hes going over the speed limit on Rt. 4 a major road so hes partially to blame?! Its so ugly and really despicable that he places the blame on this poor man who did nothing wrong besides hit a huge animal that the owner had repeatedly let get out of his fencing. The real tragedy besides this accident is that Mosher didnt do some jail time. I can only hope he (and not his insurance company) got hit for everything hes worth. He is a menace letting his animals roam loose and doing nothing.

Re: “Hood's Off: Burlington White Nationalist Attended Charlottesville Rally

this is so terribly sad -
it boils down to one single word
education
he is profoundly uneducated
you can't be even marginally educated and think this way
he is just another sad, loser white dude working (or not working now) in some dead-end low wage loser job
plus he's got the terrible after effects of those stupid ear things
he doesn't have enough money (or health insurance) to have some desperately needed cosmetic surgery to fix his ears
to think there are angry, loser white dudes like this all over the country -
they think immigrants are the problem -
it's all about lack of education
that is what fuels his hate -
i feel sorry for him

Re: “Teen Charged in South Burlington Racist Graffiti Case

What is so ironic is that the person he is calling dumb is headed to NYC and Columbia in the fall. This turkey is likely heading nowhere and he knows it. That is the source of his fury this is the act of impotency. Now besides be a loser white dude stuck in Vermont hes got a criminal felony record on his back forever. He knows he is loser and he is furious like so many of his ilk. I like the idea of making him scrub graffiti off walls for the length of whatever sentence they give him.

Re: “No Prison Time for Man Whose Loose Bull Caused Fatal Wreck

you can only hope the family goes after him in civil court and sues him for every thing he has
he should pay for this -
i hope he loses his shirt, his land, and every penny he has
he had reckless disregard for the safety of anyone driving on Rt 4
he was warned, he had people at his house that night telling him
this was not some random one time animal got out sort of thing -
he did not care -
he did nothing
that could have been you or me -
there should be a great case to take him to court - he killed someone - as sure has if he pulled trigger

Re: “Knodell Wins Tight Race to Keep Burlington City Council Seat

Compare the two photos 7 days chose to run with this piece
That about says it all
They are in bed with the establishment faux progressive dinosaur
(how much did she spend in advertising in 7 days in the last few weeks?)
dinosaur jane gets a nice powerful smiling shot with supporters in cheering adoration around her
The other gets a shot where she looks like this weirdo, bizarre, deranged harpy Shame on you 7 days - an appalling use of photos to editorialize
So unsubtle and not cool
Btw, Jane the fake progressive, should be ashamed and embarrassed that she barely won this entrenched dinosaur barely eked out a victory -
How much did she spend how much did all those ads in last weeks 7 days cost her?
How much did her developer friends contribute and she BARELY won
Why not some term limits for the dinosaur fake progressive councilor for life
