It's hard to believe, but the Vermont Tech Jam turned six years old in January! We held the first Tech Jam on the Burlington Waterfront, in the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, on January 28, 2008.
Since then, the Tech Jam has connected thousands of job seekers, career changers, students, entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts. We've collected a few Tech Jam success stories here. We liked Charles Baldridge's story so much that we interviewed him on camera.
A few years ago, Charles was living in Baltimore. Then he saw something online about the Tech Jam. He booked a flight and headed up the next day for the event. Now he works at MyWebGrocer. Take a couple minutes to watch this video and find out why.

Since 2014, Seven Days has allowed readers to comment on all stories posted on our website. While we’ve appreciated the suggestions and insights, the time has come to shut them down — at least temporarily.
While we champion free speech, facts are a matter of life and death during the coronavirus pandemic, and right now Seven Days is prioritizing the production of responsible journalism over moderating online debates between readers.
To criticize, correct or praise our reporting, please send us a letter to the editor. Or send us a tip. We’ll check it out and report the results.
