Re: “Madaila Band Member Charged With Defacing Burlington Mural

I think it would be great if the artist sues him for a couple million for destroying his artwork.

Re: “Burlington City Councilor Accuses Other Members of Racism

Where are the facts to support this claim? If you are going to accuse someone you better have solid ground to stand on and offer something more than just your opinion.

Re: “BTV Loses Its Only International Commercial Flight

Flying into BTV is a big risk for airlines since it is the end of the line, meaning there are no connecting flights from here like a hub. The trucking industry here has the same problem.

Re: “Critics Say Burlington Telecom Deal Shortchanges Taxpayers

As with every business, there comes a time when you have to cut your losses. To do nothing will only make Telecom a dinosaur. To keep up with the ever changing times it requires a lot of money for changes. Something that needs a private investor not tax payers continuing to put more and more money into it. Citibank is also taking a loss on the deal. the $17 mil is gone and will not be recovered but millions more is needed for upgrades and expansion. As a taxpayer I don't want to dump any more money into it. Cut the cord and move on.

Re: “Who Shot Mr. Cheeseface? The Vermont Demise of a Famous Mutt

Very disturbing picture. Goes against every safety aspect of treating EVERY gun as though it was loaded.

Re: “Walters: Scott, Hallquist Draw Clear Contrasts in Second Debate

Universal health care is not affordable for the working people of Vermont. Someone has to pay for those who don't want to work. Increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour will increase cost to businesses. There in is the trickle down affect where businesses will raise prices or cut staff to pay the higher wages. We all can't be like the electric coop and raise prices. We all know that the coop has high electric rates so I would use that as a comparison of what she is modeling.

Re: “Burlington Voters Will Consider $100 Million in School, Wastewater Bonds

tax increases by 2028 going to be $550, that's based on a 250K house. Not many of those in Burlington. Don't forget to add the annual increase the school dept brings to the table. Your property tax increases over the past decade are primarily from the school taxes. The general city tax has not increased in years. Th Burlington schools are a expensive broken system and will only continue to get worse. Throwing more money at a broken system just makes it an expensive broken system.
