Re: “'Mob' Attacks Middlebury Prof and Controversial Speaker Charles Murray

Protest is fine, in the proper context. Disagreement is fine, respectfully conducted. Failure to listen is not an admirable academic trait. Discourtesy to a speaker is unpardonable. Better that Middlebury students listen, question, and discuss - but not prevent free discussion. AEI gets credit for bringing alternative views to campus. Middlebury students get no credit for closing their minds to those ideas. Those who do not have the advantage of attending Middlebury must ache at the thought that others treat that privilege with disdain. Appreciate what's before you, students, and be humble. Many work very hard to afford you the opportunity for intellectual discourse.
