The U.S. Americans, Cosmonaut Radio Staff Picks

When: Sat., Aug. 18, 9 p.m. 2018
Price: free
According to the U.S. Americans’ website, “serious music doesn’t always have to be so serious.” Themes of political defiance permeate the New York City-based quartet’s hard-edged rock tunes, but the group has a sense of humor, too. For instance, its pitch-perfect re-creation of Reagan-era punk, “FCK the KGB,” is a high-concept, cheeky throwback, given that the Russian intelligence and security agency no longer exists. The group doubles down on the espionage gag in the song’s black-and-white, hostage-scenario music video. The U.S. Americans rock the house on Saturday, August 18, at Charlie-O’s World Famous in Montpelier. Cosmonaut Radio add support.
