When the Republican members heard the chime to reconvene, couldn't they have asked for more time? What were they doing? What a petty bunch, sheeesh. And, the Gershin amendment looks really, really awful. Shameful.
Very clever, enjoyed it. At first I thought it was going to be about the Winooski Bubble that was proposed by futurist Buckminister Fuller. Back in 1979 the town was almost covered in a giant dome to reduce oil consumption and save on heating costs. Maybe today's "bubble" is preventing too much hot air from seeping in.
Really good article. It does a good job of going beyond talking points and buzz words. It provides good data and asks hard questions. This is the kind of journalism I appreciate the most. Thanks.
Very strong reporter and a better person. Best of luck in your future wherever it may lead.
Bill Mathis is a highly informed, respected and experienced educator and he has a point of view that comes from his education and experience. Just because his point of view is not what some others want it to be, does not make for a conflict of interest. In fact, are the three legislators complaining about Mr. Mathis have their own conflicts of interest in this matter? Should legislators abuse their elective offices to bully and threaten appointed officials with whom they disagree? That sounds like an abuse of political power to me.
Thank you Beth Pearce for showing us the money and warning against this plan.
Thanks for the link to an article about wind turbines at ski areas. It tells me that maintaining a safe distance from them is needed. But it also talks about a resort that does have turbines and skiers are limited to 800 feet from them which seems reasonable and something our ski area could do. I'd like to see more consideration of ski areas as sites for wind ower.
