Re: “An Ongoing Feud in Victory Illustrates the Dark Side of Small-Town Life

For all of you that put in comments over the 7 days article. I have a home in Victory Vermont. I have a full time job. and I have a ranch with a garage on 10 acres of land. For those that said "Oh I feel sorry for this one and that" You have no idea what is going on in our town. We are in the middle of a forensic audit because of noted improprieties. An audit had never been done in 10 years then to hear you paid more on your taxes and some people didn't pay their taxes nor did they collect them, or they didn't get charged on their full assessment but some of us had to pay more to make up the difference. I'm speaking of the people on the board before 2014
You would be red lined if this was happening to you. Then someone says I feel sorry for Mrs Martel, she is continuing right where the old administration left off. She had been very defensive to people wont let listers into the office to do the assessments on homes. Against the law!! Mrs Martel calls the police on town officials so don't feel sorry she isn't' who she says she is. I was at the town meeting and all you heard was some people calling others names and acting like a child, they know who they are. So before you say anything walk in my shoes first. We have been screwed over because of the prior administration before 2014 and thats why the town is in such a mess...
