Re: “Dining on a Dime: Pho Hong

As the writer was obviously alluding too, the service is terrible FYI, maybe the worst in Burlington. Table service is spotty at best, down right walk out of the restaurant, intolerable at worst. Take out is no better, they will frequently quote you 15 minutes even if the wait is 45 minutes or more (which it often is).

The food is amazing, would truly be a highlight destination coming to Burlington for, if the service was even remotely up to par.

Worth going for an early dinner or late lunch but any other time means the service is too poor to make an attempt

Re: “Air Show to Wow Burlington — Minus One Local Flight School

Thunderbirds fly F-16s, not F-18s as the article states.

Re: “Sugar High! Flambé Bombe at ¡Duino! (Duende)

SevenDays hasn't posted an actual restaurant review in weeks. Writing about food news does not count as a review either. Individual "Sugar-high" dishes are not reviews. What is the point of a food and drink section if you don't actually review food or drink beyond single dishes?

Any actual restaurant reviews this week?

Re: “Sugar High! Homemade Peach Pie

Other than the fact that this pie was made using ingredients purchased at City Market (which may as well be a Whole Foods anywhere else in the country), what does this have to do with Vermont or Burlington? Shouldn't the focus of a food column in Burlington, VT, be on the food of the city. Why not try different pies from various bakeries?

Re: “A 'Motel' for the Homeless Fights to Stay in Shelburne

Unfortunately this is biased puff piece that does little to illustrate the true extent of the problems that Harbor Place has burdened Shelburne with. Problems such as increased theft from Route 7 Liquor and Deli and Kinney Drugs, broken car windows at the Automaster, numerous heroin overdosed and alcohol intoxicated individuals at Harbor Place to name only a few.

Harbor Place is the number #1 consumer of emergency services in the town of Shelburne whose number of calls is equivalent to all of the other elderly care facilities, Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Museum and Route 7 combined.

Unfortunately it does not appear that the reporter has done her due diligence reporting on the true, quantified nature of the problem at Harbor Place and instead decided to perform a qualitative assessment with biased stakeholders instead.
