Vermont Tech Jam 2011 [245]

?10/28/11: At this year's 5th annual Vermont Tech Jam, 82 exhibitors and over 2000 people visited the old Borders store in downtown Burlington Friday and Saturday. Over 400 of the attendees were middle school and high school students from all over the state and there were talks by Governor Shumlin and IBM scientist John Cohn as well as some panel discussions.

Events like these highlight Vermont's thriving technology sector, provide a space for people to make connections and show students the  wealth of opportunities available in their own backyards.

Music: Lowell Thompson, Crown Pilot, "Green Doors"

Since 2014, Seven Days has allowed readers to comment on all stories posted on our website. While we’ve appreciated the suggestions and insights, the time has come to shut them down — at least temporarily.

While we champion free speech, facts are a matter of life and death during the coronavirus pandemic, and right now Seven Days is prioritizing the production of responsible journalism over moderating online debates between readers.

To criticize, correct or praise our reporting, please send us a letter to the editor. Or send us a tip. We’ll check it out and report the results.

Online comments may return when we have better tech tools for managing them. Thanks for reading.
