I was heartbroken to recently find out that the State I Love and called home for many years, is abandoning it's grassroots vibe in order to commercialize and strip away a beautiful skyline. I can't imagine the sight of a 14 story building smack-dab in the middle of downtown could possibly allow for unobstructed sunset views from the rest of town. Hundreds of homes and countless people living up the hill will have the sun go down behind the tallest temple of commercialism to invade the Green Mountain State. Where is the community on this? After they build this, will we adorn the highways with billboards? Who in Vermont actually wants to go look at the box stores in Williston stacked on top of one another (with overpriced condos on top, I'm guessing very few of us would affordably rent) in downtown Burlington, rather than a panoramic view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains...
Re: “Cops Bust a Burlington Pot Shop That Hid in Plain Sight”
In Mass, before store dispensaries were available, but as/after cannabis possession was made legal... People could legally sell to other people, provided they checked identification at the time of the sale. That went on for YEARS. Vermont will suffer itself with monstrous buildings blocking the sunset views for Sh!7 reasons (like the rich get new view condos, and everyone loves indoor malls *puke*) but it is honestly sad to see no legal avenue the people can move through to obtain a legalized plant product.
I thought "legal" meant more than loopholes and sting ops. That being said, GTG owner should not have been closing his legitimate glass shop in favor of starting a weed front. Who has my delivery service? I have my ID. State wants money? Allow sales & self reporting for tax income, at least until the state passes better infrastructure.
