If you're headed to the Champlain Valley Fair this week - and who isn't, really? - be sure to look for Rusty DeWees hawking his new book, Scrawlins. On the heels of his book signing at Thunder Road Tuesday, everybody's favorite Logger says he'll be autographing his collection of folksy essays from 4 p.m. on, every day this week. Talk about taking it to the people . . .
If you missed the recent iron pour in Burlington, an even bigger spectacle awaits this Saturday, September 1, at Mac Steel Scrap Yard in Rutland. After working all week to "transform the scrap yard into another world," a collaborative art group called The Iron Guild will present "Scrapland" - "a live performance iron pour and interactive soundscape" - at 8 p.m. Any burning questions? Visit http://www.ironguild.net or call 207-475-6669. Rain date Sunday, same time . . .
