Re: “Hen of the Wood (Burlington)

Finally had the opportunity to check out the Burlington location for a special dinner out. We were seated at a two top very close to the kitchen. It was quite loud and we could hear the conversations on either side of us. Our server was obviously well trained and knowledgeable. His wine recommendation was perfect!! We each ordered an appetizer, an entree, one dessert, and a bottle of wine. I realize the food is local, organic, and exquisitely prepared, but one tentacle of calamari does not a $12 appetizer make. After dropping $200 plus tip, we had to get a pizza since we were still famished. I would definitely go back to have a drink at the bar and dessert (dessert was the best part of the meal!!). However, I'll likely go to Trattoria Delia or L'Amante for my next fancy dinner. Ambiance: 4, Food flavor and presentation: 5, food portion for the price: 2-3. Service: 5+

Pizza Barrio Best in Burlington
Pizza Barrio has become a staple in the life of my partner and me. Their gluten free pizza is the best I have had in Burlington! The toppings are always, thoughtful, creative, local, and go together just right. Their Barrio Bite is a gluten free ice cream sandwich wedged between amaretti cookies which is always delicious or try their flourless chocolate cake. It's not what you're thinking:a dense brick where one nibble is plenty. This chocolate cake is moist, fudgy, and semi-cooked brownie like. In other words, heaven on earth. Thanks Barrio for being so awesome! Food: 5 Ambiance: 5 Service: 5
