Re: “Three Tomatoes Trattoria

Overrated and Overpriced
Three Tomatoes has to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had lately. First, we were seated in an overcrowded basement room where the acoustics made it nearly impossible to have a conversation or hear our waitress speaking to us. Italian food is all about sharing and so imagine my surprise when I was told, no, there was no large antipasto to share, we didn't get any baskets of garlic bread, bowls of olives, nothing. I ordered calzone for my dinner and when our plates finally began arriving two at a time, I was informed the waitress had forgotten to put my order in as it was something they normally wait on. I am not sure. However, I ended up watching everybody eat while my calzone was made, then they watched me eat. To add insult to injury, it was bland to the point it was almost tasteless. Did they leave something out? The waitress apologized profusely for her error, however, she did nothing to make up for it or put me at ease while I sat there with nothing at all to eat. Nor did we get a discount or a free desert. At least Junior's last year offered me a cookie to take home! I am left wondering how any restaurant stays in business when they demand high prices for their food and treat their customers, who are guests, so rudely as to leave them at a dinner table without food. Won't be visiting Three Tomatoes again and actually hope next time I am in Burlington, this restaurant won't even be there!! Food: 2 Ambiance: 1 Service: 1
