Re: “Monty's Old Brick Tavern

Please get this place turned around!
We've been to Monty's Old Brick Tavern twice now. The first time was for an early lunch shortly after they opened. The food was sub-par and the service was only ok. The waitress missed one of our orders and we had to wait for another sandwich to be made. I have to say, the waitress was very polite but everything came out extremely slow and she was hard to find for a fresh glass of water or to replace a dropped fork. The second time we went was for dinner. The woman who acted as a hostess was rude to the point where we considered leaving. The waitress, however was very sweet and accommodating. The food, again, was lackluster. My wife's burger was falling apart and certainly nothing to write home about. I had a fish special and it was ok, but nothing spectacular. This place also fancies itself as an upscale tavern, therefore, no french fries (heaven forbid!). Instead I got a half a plate full bland fingerling potatoes. The atmosphere is very pleasant. I love the style and the bar is quaint. Nevermind the great patio that is empty every time I see it. I live nearby and would love for this tavern to turn into our local place to hop in for a quick burger and Switchback, but after two tries I don't think we'll be going back. Then again, I doubt this place could screw up a Switchback...maybe I'll just sneak past the rude lady and have a beer at the bar. Food: 2 Ambiance: 4 Service: 1
